How to connect ChatGPT to Fortnox
- Try it in the Fortnox App Market. Find More AI - ChatGPT & Claude MCP, choose Buy and then Activate. This is done by a system administrator of your Fortnox.
- Add the connector in ChatGPT. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins in your browser, choose Add and then Add custom MCP server, and paste the address below.
- Sign in to Fortnox. Choose the company and approve. Open a new chat — then just ask.

- A ChatGPT plan that allows custom MCP servers. In a Business or Enterprise workspace an administrator may need to allow it.
- A Fortnox account, and the person who buys and first connects the company must be a system administrator.
- The connector is added at chatgpt.com in the browser and then also appears in the ChatGPT desktop app.
Is it safe to connect ChatGPT to Fortnox?
ChatGPT reads when you ask and asks before a change is prepared. The change itself is sent to Fortnox only once you approve that exact content — that check lives with us, not in ChatGPT.

ChatGPT or Claude — which should I choose?
Both work equally well with Fortnox: the same questions, the same analyses and the same approvals, and the same licence covers both. The differences lie in the apps:

Which ChatGPT plan is needed?
A plan that allows custom MCP servers. If you cannot find Add custom MCP server under Plugins, your workspace administrator may have switched it off.
Can ChatGPT change my books on its own?
No. ChatGPT can propose a change, but it is shown to you in plain text and sent to Fortnox only once you approve that exact content.
Do you or OpenAI store my books?
We store no copy of your books. What ChatGPT fetches becomes part of the conversation with OpenAI, under your agreement with them.
