How to connect Claude to Fortnox
- Try it in the Fortnox App Market. Find More AI - ChatGPT & Claude MCP, choose Buy and then Activate. This is done by a system administrator of your Fortnox.
- Add the connector in Claude. On claude.ai: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste the address below into MCP server URL.
- Sign in to Fortnox. Choose the company and approve. Tip: set Read-only tools to Always allow, so you do not have to approve every read.

- A Claude account. The free plan is enough, though it allows only one custom connector.
- A Fortnox account, and the person who buys and first connects the company must be a system administrator.
- The connector is added on claude.ai in the browser and then follows you to Claude’s desktop and mobile apps.
Is it safe to connect Claude to Fortnox?
Claude asks permission for each tool until you say otherwise. Changes to your books always ask — and are sent to Fortnox only once you approve that exact content. That check lives with us, not in Claude.

ChatGPT or Claude — which should I choose?
Both work equally well with Fortnox: the same questions, the same analyses and the same approvals, and the same licence covers both. The differences lie in the apps:

Is Claude’s free plan enough?
Yes. The free plan allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise the organisation owner adds the connector, and then everyone connects.
Why does Claude keep asking for permission?
Claude asks for each tool until you change it. Under Settings → Connectors you can set Read-only tools to Always allow. Changes still ask.
Do you or Anthropic store my books?
We store no copy of your books. What Claude fetches becomes part of the conversation with Anthropic, under your agreement with them.
